Sunday Funday!

My family visits Washington, DC quite often. We often hear people say "you went all the way to DC to eat dinner?", um yes we did. We love the food, the culture, the scenery, the trails and the list goes on. It's our nations capital. People have to take plane rides to get here, we only have to take a 45 minute ride, its amazing. We visited The U.S. National Arboretum. The flowers, greenery, scenery, birds everything was absolutely beautiful. I'm so glad we got to visit this gem.

Since Covid hit they have different hours so plan your trip accordingly. Starting July 8th they are open Monday's, Wednesday's and Friday's from 1-5pm only. Car access is only available from the New York Ave entrance but you cannot drive through you have to walk, so come prepared to walk with sneakers and bring a water bottle! All buildings are closed. The herb garden, fern valley and youth garden are closed.

You can rent a bike! I would bring a disinfecting wipe to wipe the handles off.

After our walk we were extremely thirsty and hungry so we found a restaurant in Georgetown to eat dinner. Brasserie Liberte is a modern french restaurant. Their food is absolutely amazing. We went twice this week ha. The French onion soup gratinee, boeuf bourguignon and the roasted half chicken are some of the best dishes I've had this year. We might even go back for a third day this week haha.

I hope everyone has a fantastic Sunday! And remember , get out and explore! (with your mask ha).
